Open Source.

This lecture is based on the keynote speech at the Japanese Association of Computer Science in October 28th in Tokyo, Japan. It is an overview of the Supercourse project as an Open Source model in education and a model for crossing the Digital Divide. Open Source model and its development, also the concept of Digital Divide were introduced. It’s total 49 slides. This lecture is divided into two parts for the reader’s convenience: one for the first 25 slides with the Supercourse overview and the Open Source model and the other for the rest with the Digital Divide and the Supercourse development & utilization. It takes about 35 minutes to go over. Learning objectives: To learn the Open Source model and the concept of Digital Divide. To learn the development using the Open Source model. To learn the current phase of the Supercourse project as an Open Source model to cross the Digital Divide for global education in Epidemiology.
